At Mormec, we service a wide range of commercial-grade appliances, including self-contained refrigerated units. These units have all their cooling components — like the compressor, condenser, and evaporator — built directly into the equipment. Everything needed to operate is in one package. Some walk-in coolers even have self-contained units built into the top, though most walk-ins use remote systems.

Remote condensing units split their components. The evaporator stays inside the appliance, while the compressor and condenser are located outside, like on a rooftop or ground unit, similar to a home AC with an outdoor unit and indoor furnace. While we may provide limited services for remote units, we generally don’t work on them.

Quick tip: If your refrigeration or HVAC relies on a unit on the roof or outside, it’s likely remote, and we typically don’t service it. Trust Mormec for expert repairs on self-contained units and all your commercial-grade appliance needs!

We work on self-contained HVAC units like PTAC units, commonly found in hotels, office buildings, and nursing homes built into the wall. We also work on portable cooling and heating units like the rentals contractors provide for temporary air conditioning. Our remote HVAC services are limited to preventative maintenance, like changing filters and washing coils. Refer to above for an explanation on remote equipment.

We can do warranty service work for many manufacturers. Please mention that the appliance is under warranty when placing your service call for confirmation.
